Step into 2021 in style by taking your first steps towards an incredible team goal!

This spring we are asking you to take on the challenge of Lands’ End to John o’ Groats – virtually!

However and whenever you rack up those kms is entirely up to you, you don’t even have to set foot outside if you don’t want (treadmill kms count!). Starting on March 1st and finishing on VE Day 2021 you and your team will have almost ten weeks to reach your target of 1408km.

We’ll be on hand to support you and give you regular progress updates as you walk, run, cycle or swim the distance from one end of the UK to the other, raising vital funds and awareness for Blind Veterans UK as you go.

Step 1

Gather your team; we recommend a minimum of 2, maximum of 4. You don’t all need to be in one place at the same time for this challenge so pick your strongest players wherever they are in the world.

Step 2

Set up your team fundraising page and share your challenge; email signatures, social media, posters in your gym… Think outside the box and spread the word far and wide.

Step 3

Get sponsored! We ask for a target of £400 per team but if you feel you can aim higher be our guest! Your target will be on your team fundraising page!

Step 4

Rack up those kms! Any how and any time. Log every activity and upload to your FR page to keep tally.

Why Virtual?

With people leading increasingly busy lives it can be difficult to fit everything in…our virtual challenge means you can fit your activity around your lifestyle. Planning a hilly dog walk at the weekend? Log your kms! Doing your first park run? Log your kms! Hill climb warm up on the static bike before leg day? Log. Your. KMs!

Just 3k a day from everyone in your team will see you hit your goal by VJ Day 2021 and we will be with you every (virtual) step of the way with fundraising tips, progress reports and ways to cram in an extra km here and there to bump up your tally.

Why support Blind Veterans UK?

It is estimated that there are 50,000 vulnerable blind veterans living isolated lives in the UK. Some go for days or even weeks with no-one around to speak with or help them to do essential things like read their post or walk down to their local shops.

By taking part in the LEJOG Virtual Challenge you will enable more blind veterans to access the support they urgently need to get out and about and rebuild their lives.
